How many kids are gonna get that joke? Actually, scratch that, how many of you period got that joke? Please tell, I’m most curious.
Once again, the fire elemental doesn’t have any truly unique lore behind it. Nor does it have a compelling design; it’s fire that’s vaguely humanoid. Once again, the only thing there really is to talk about are the stats.
I really should’ve done all these guys at once…
Much like the earth elemental before it, the fire elemental is resistant to all forms of non-magical attack. On top of that, it’s completely immune to both fire and poison, as well as pretty much every condition you can think of. These bolster the low AC, though that is a bit balanced by the triple-digit HP.
Although none of that stops the fact that you can splash water on it to kill it. Granted, doing so only does one point of damage per gallon. But if you’ve got over a hundred gallons on hand, you’re set!
Just don’t get too close. Wouldn’t want it to burn you. Also, don’t bother with hiding in the shadows. It does glow. It is, in fact, fire.
I love the fact that it’s only attack is just touching you. Not slamming or slashing. Just touching you. Plus, on top of doing 10(2d6+3) fire damage, it can light you on fire, doing an extra 5(1d10) at the start of every turn.
This can make for a pretty fun, albeit simple, fight. Certainly more interesting than the earth elemental. Still, if you’re looking for a memorable boss, you might want to look elsewhere.
