Copper Dragons: It’s Just a Prank, Mortal

You know King Kai? From Dragon Ball Z? Yeah, it’s that. But it’s a dragon.

Copper dragons appreciate humor and wit above all else. Should it entertain guests, it becomes annoyed at those that don’t laugh at its jokes or shrug off its various pranks. This is why they love bards; they’ll often make room in their abode for them and allow them to stay for days, regaling it with stories and songs. To it, such company is its greatest treasure.

Not to say that it doesn’t appreciate normal treasure. They covet gems and precious metals. However, they’re hesitant to show them off. Instead, it might send aspiring treasure hunters on a wild goose chase to a location of no value.

And… that’s it. It’s a prankster dragon. Sure, that’s fun! But all you can really do is create an encounter. At best, you can craft a simple side quest where the party must trick or is tricked by a copper dragon. In terms of depth, though? This one is a bit lacking.

Combat wise, it isn’t all that interesting, either. At least not by dragon standards. It has all the typical dragon stats, with two breath attacks: acid and slowing. Both of which do exactly what you expect. Could it make an awesome boss fight? Of course it can! It’s a dragon! It’s a cool boss fight by default!
