Writer’s Diary: July 2026 Update

Hello again, one and all! I’m emerging from my cave to give you all an update on my next novel and the future of this blog. Unfortunately, I need to get back into my cave ASAP, so let’s make this quick.

Work has begun on the next draft of ‘The Red Dragon’s Tears’. My beta readers have provided some invaluable feedback, so I can finally whip the story into shape. My goal is to have the final draft complete and in the hands of my editor by the end of Summer. The book is still on track to release this year.

As for the blog, I’m afraid it’s going to be another quiet month. But I do have plans for August. I plan on taking a weekend off to attend an event in Orlando: CEO 2026, a major fighting game tournament. I’ve been playing fighting games for a while, but I’ve never attended a tournament before. Hopefully I’ll have some fun before immediately getting knocked out of the bracket. Either way, I’ll be sharing my experiences with all of you once I get home.

I had plans to make such a post for EVO back in 2020. But then the world was plunged into a fever dream that never ended. Hopefully no viral outbreaks will thwart my plans this time. Knowing my luck, I should probably pack a hazmat suit anyway.
