Nearing the Finish Line: Writer’s Diary February 2025 Update

Well. 2025 has certainly been… a year. But let’s not dwell on matters beyond our control. That is the road to madness. Let’s talk about happier subjects.

Firstly, an update on the blog. Last month, I promised my review on season one of ‘Dandadan.’ The draft on that is now complete. All that remains now is fact-checking and editing. Considering that the show is half-shounen, half-romantic comedy, I figured Valentine’s Day would be a good release date. So, if you’re like me and don’t have a date next Friday, consider checking that out.

Beyond that, you can largely expect the blog to be silent this month. I’ve been playing some games in my off time that I might talk about, but I haven’t made enough progress in any of them for a solid review or impressions article yet. You may get a surprise post if that changes. If not, it’s because I’ve been primarily focused on the book.

Speaking of: here are the current numbers on ‘Father of Monsters‘:

  • Pages: 306/335
  • Words: 164,659
  • Chapters: 49/53, Chapter 50 roughly 70% complete

I had hoped to have the book done by chapter 50. However, as writing continued, it quickly became evident I’d have to expand the narrative a few chapters. Luckily, things are still going at a strong pace and I’m super happy with how its turning out. With an extra push on my part, I’ll finally have this draft done by the end of the month. Then come March, it’s off to the beta readers.

That’s about all I have for you all this month. Thank you all as always for your continued patience and support. I hope that it’ll all be worth it when it’s all said and done.

Stay safe out there, everyone. Have a happy week.

Until next time!
