Writer’s Diary: May 2025 Update

Hope everyone enjoyed their April. Because May is all business. No more fun and games when we’re talking about fun and games!

First: an update on ‘Father of Monsters‘. I’ve gotten some invaluable feedback from my wonderful beta readers, and work has begun on the final draft. I aim to set a quick pace for this, editing a chapter every one to three days. Maybe four for some of the lengthier additions. The goal is to have all 56 chapters done by the end of Summer.

Once that’s done, we will enter the final stages. First, the manuscript will be sent off to an editor to get cleaned up and ready for publication. At that time, I’ll be getting back into contact with my cover artist to make final adjustments for the physical release. After all that, it’s just a matter of formatting, and we’ll be ready for release.

Which brings us to the release date. At this stage in production, I don’t have a firm number yet. But I can aim for a window: October. If all goes according to plan, FoM will be ready before Halloween. Still, take that with a grain of salt; it’s an optimistic timeline.

As for the blog, things will largely be quiet as I work on the book. Not to say I don’t have articles planned. I’ll definitely be talking about ‘Clair Obscur: Expedition 33‘; that game has blown me away in every conceivable way! Might be a current impressions article, or I might wait until I’ve finished it. Probably the former; I already have so much to praise about it and I’m nowhere near finished!

There are two other projects I plan on for this month. One is an article about ‘Baldur’s Gate 3‘. Specifically, my experience completing the game’s Honor mode difficulty for the first time. It was one of the most memorable gaming experiences I’ve ever had and I would love to share it with you all.

The other is all about Superman. See, after the first trailer for the upcoming movie came out, I’ve been on a huge kick for the Man of Steel. Whenever I’m not writing or playing games, I’m reading Superman comics. I plan on reviewing some of those, starting with the big one: ‘All-Star Superman.‘ I’ll probably do a few of those leading up to the new movie in July.

Just two more months… Normally, I’d wish those would pass quicker, but I’ve got a book to work on. So… take your time, Universe.

That’s about all I have for today. As always, thank you all very much for reading. Until next time: stay safe and take care of yourselves.
