Happy New Year, folks! I hope the occasion finds you all well!
2025 is set to be a big year for me. My first book, ‘Father of Monsters‘, is set to release. A fact which is equal parts terrifying and thrilling. But I’ve made the promise, and god dammit, I mean to see it through!
First, an update on the blog. I’ve got two articles nearly ready to go. The first is my promised ‘Wind and Truth‘ review. That will be going up tomorrow. After that, I’ll be going over my favorite games of 2024. You can expect that one on Friday or the following Monday. Once they’re up and published, I’ll begin work on a ‘Dandadan‘ review.
Now, an update on ‘Father of Monsters‘. Here are the current numbers going into the new year:
- Word Count: 142,338
- Page Count: 293
- Chapters Completed: 45
- Parts Completed: 4/5
Part 4 is finally done, and part 5 is already underway. Chapter 46 is roughly 65% complete and should be done by the end of the week. I’ve also gotten some early work done on Chapter 47, so I’ll be able to hit the ground running when I get there.
Yes, I know, my drafting is a mess. That’s because I do extra work on chapters ahead of time during my breaks at work. Luckily for me, I’m in the last stretch of gap-filling. Chapters 49 and 50 will largely be the same as in the rough draft; only these last three chapters, 46 – 48, need to be re-written. Once that final hurdle is overcome, it’ll be smooth sailing from there.
Hopefully.
My current goal is to have the narrative complete by the end of January. Afterwards, February will be spent proofreading, revising, and making small edits where necessary. By March, I will have the book in the hands of beta readers. At which point I’ll take a small break to do work on ‘Threads of Reality‘. Only until I get the reports back and begin work on the final draft.
That’s about all I have for today. It’s been a long road, and we still have farther to go. But the goal is on the horizon. It won’t be long now.
Thank you very much for reading. Have a lovely rest of your day!
