Poirot Adventures: The Double Clue

Y’all know the drill by now, let’s just get to it.

When a collection of valuable jewels are stolen, it’s up to Hercule Poirot to discover them without causing a major scandal. Only two clues remain at the scene of the crime: a cigarettes’ case and a glove. Both point to one obvious suspect. Or is there more to this case than meets the eye?

This is a really short one. It’s also the most focused of all the really short ones. It manages to deliver a surprisingly decent mystery, all with only two clues. A mystery which provides all the necessary information and delivers a satisfying twist. With a little effort, you could very well solve this one yourself!

Unfortunately, in terms of characters, this story is pretty weak. The only one who really makes an impression is the Russian Karen. Even our leading men don’t have much to add; Poirot is all business and Hastings hardly has anything to say!

And… that’s just about all there is to say, really. This is a decent little mystery story, but not a very good character narrative. If you just want a puzzle, it’s a great pick. If you’re looking for a plot and good cast of characters, you’ll need to search elsewhere.

Well, that was quick. Not much to chew on this time. Hopefully we’ll have more to analyze next time.

Anyways, we’re done. Bye.
