Summer is upon us. A blistering hot, sweaty summer. The perfect time to be anywhere other than outside.
Let’s get right into the update, shall we?
For movies, we’re gonna take a little break from the X-Men. At least for a week. There’s a certain movie I need to cover. If you’re familiar with my tastes, then you’ll know which one I’m talking about. And if not… then I guess we’ll call it a surprise.
Best of the Bestiary carries on. We’ll see the end of the T section this month. The end is close, yet still so far off.
Admittedly, I’m a bit indecisive for the book section this month. I’ve got multiple books I wanna get through, but I’m not too far into any of them. Expect more Poirot, perhaps some Lovecraft, and probably another Discworld book. Maybe I’ll finish ‘The King in Yellow’ this month.
Our Doctor Who retrospective is officially over. At least, it’ll be the day after this article goes up. I’m not sure how I’ll fill the slot in the days to come. But I do know that I want to talk about Viserys Targaryen from ‘House of the Dragon’. So expect that sometime soon.
Game Night has plenty of options going for it. My review of Metal Gear Solid 1 is finally going up this week. Then after that, I’ll be promptly consumed by Final Fantasy XVI. I’ll need to find something to fill that time. Probably something else to do with Street Fighter 6. Maybe Zelda.
With the Spring season coming to a close, we’ve got plenty of anime to talk about. Perfect timing, as we need to take a break from Berserk. And what better way to rest from that series than some slice-of-life romcoms?! Whoop! Let’s go!!
Finally, to wrap up, let’s talk about the novel. Progress hasn’t been as substantial as I’d like, but there still was progress. Let’s see some numbers.
- Pages: 324
- Words: 168,344
- Chapters: 50 + prologue
- Parts: 4/5
The rough draft is nearly done. Just need to write the climax, which should take another few chapters. That should be done by Chapter 55, and then I’ll take another few shorter chapters before the epilogue for falling action. My current goal is to be done by August-September, somewhere around that time frame.
Why then, you may ask? Because I first started writing this novel around that time frame last year. After ToR took me two years to complete, I’m eager to get this one done faster without sacrificing quality.
That, and editing is gonna take just as long, if not longer. Better to get to it quickly.
So that’s where we’re at. Overall, I’m feeling pretty good. Work is going decently well, writing is going well, everything is going decently well.
Which is giving my anxiety a field day. But we’re just gonna ignore that. At least, until it gives me a heart attack.
Thanks for reading, and have a great day. See ya!
