Original Release: June 9th, 2018
I’ve mentioned several times now that Dragon Ball Fighterz is my game of the year so far. This is interesting for two reasons: one, it’s a Dragon Ball game, and two, it’s a fighting game. Neither of which tend to grab me for long periods of time.
Fighting games are absurd. Or more specifically, the people who play it are fucking nuts. The combos, the frame perfect exploits, and fight sticks (just in general) all combine to create: a scary fucking gamer. You know these fuckers are prepared in every possible way to kick your ass.
In laymen’s terms, experienced fighting game players are Batman, and I’m a poor thug stuck with them in an alleyway.
Here’s the thing: it takes a long fucking time to get good at a fighting game. Hell, I’ve been playing Fighterz for about fifty-five hours and I’m still only average. I intend to get good, but I’ve still got a long way to go.
And I’m gonna get my ass kicked all the way to the end.
Here’s the thing: it’s really hard to get good at fighting games. Mostly because, if you go online, you’re going to get bodied super hard before you can even throw a punch.
Yeah, I’m just a bit salty about that.
People who are good at these games are amazing. Have you ever looked at their controllers while they play? It’s a fucking storm! Their hands are moving faster than the human eye can see! It’s absurd! How can people get this fucking good?!
Seriously, if you haven’t seen any pro fighting game tournaments, you should check it out. It’s a sight to behold.
Hopefully I’ll be able to reach that level before I develop a second asshole from all these fucking beatings.
