Original Release: May 1st, 2018
Those who’ve been reading my blog for a while now will know that I was… worried about Infinity War. It was the last straw: if Marvel couldn’t give me a story with genuine tension and consequences for the actions of the characters.
I won’t spoil anything.
But they totally did.
No movie has left me happier in a long time. Seriously, the ending of this movie is basically perfect. It feels ripped straight out of a dark comic book story. And I assure you, it’s pretty dark.
This is easily the darkest Marvel movie made in the MCU. The heroes are constantly defeated, the Universe is rapidly going to a dark place, and people die. I won’t spoil who, how, when, where, or why. But a lot of people die in this movie.
It’s hard to go into a lot of depth without spoilers. But I’ll just say one more thing: Thanos was a fantastic villain. He’s powerful, intimidating, and insane, but still somewhat sympathetic. He is the hero of his own story, and he suffers to achieve his goal. It’s amazing to watch a Marvel movie where I want the big bad to defeat the heroes.
Without spoilers, of course, I don’t have much to say. I’ll just say this: go see Infinity War. Seriously, it’s a fantastic comic book movie and it gave me everything I had wanted. They’ve been building up to this one for a long time, and they didn’t disappoint.
Well done Marvel. Well done.
Now when is DC gonna get their shit together?

If Affleck and Cavill end up leaving I doubt DC will get it together.

I’m right there with you. They kind of need those two, or their sinking ship is only gonna sink faster.

On the other hand, if Cavill ends up leaving I really really hope Marvel picks him up and casts him as Hyperion. Maybe even Affleck for Nighthawk. It would be like a slap to the face for DC.
