Writer’s Diary: February 2026 Update

Bracing for another lonely Valentine’s Day? Don’t worry, so am I. But that’s okay. We might be lonely, but at least for a little while, we can do it together.

My month did not get off to a strong start. A nasty cold knocked me out for a week. My sinuses have since cleared; wish I could say the same about the headache and dizziness. But now I can breath again, so it’s time to get back to work.

First up, let’s talk about plans for the blog. I have three articles in the oven for February. The first is my review of ‘Pride and Prejudice‘ by Jane Austen. After that, I’ll be ranting extensively about ‘Absolute Batman‘. Finally, we’ll conclude the month of love with an article on a game that stole my heart: ‘Lies of P‘.

There are a few more that may come out this month. I also plan to make fanboy rants for ‘Absolute Wonder Woman‘ and ‘Absolute Superman‘. Shifting from comics to regular books, you can expect an article on the Warhammer 40,000 novel, ‘The Fall of Cadia‘ by Robert Rath. However, I haven’t begun work on any of them yet. If they don’t come out in February, you can expect them in March.

Next, here’s my progress report on my next book, ‘The Red Dragon’s Tears‘. Admittedly, I haven’t made as much progress as I’d like. But that’s not to say there’s been none. Here are the current numbers:

  • Words: 29145
  • Chapters: 9/12 (Chapter 10 is 80% complete)
  • Pages: 66 (Before formatting)

The book is currently in what I like to call the “Big Fucking Mess” stage. The skeleton of the story is almost fully assembled, and there’s some meat on those bones. My goal right now is just to get the first draft done ASAP. Along the way, I’m compiling notes for changes/improvements I’ll need to make the second time around. In short: chaos is almost done, order will soon follow.

That’s about all I have for you all today. I’m looking forward to sharing all of this with you. Hopefully you’ll enjoy it just as much.

As always, thank you very much for reading. Until next time: keep safe, stay healthy, and have a happy Valentine’s Day!
