Happy new year, folks. It’s gotten crazy already, and definitely not in a good way. But we’re still here. Still soldiering on in these wild times. In my mind, that’s worth celebrating.
First up, let’s talk about the blog. I’ve got two articles planned for release in January. I had originally planned them for last December, but with the FoM launch and problems at work, I’ve had to delay them to now. Both will be celebratory posts, the first for my favorite video games of 2025, and the second for my favorite books. Those will be out when they’re out.
Beyond those, I also plan on returning to ‘One Piece‘. With the Egghead arc coming to a close in the anime, it’s time to raise the black flag once again. Expect that one when you see it.
I’ve also been considering a post on ‘Metroid Prime 4: Beyond‘. Long-time readers might recall that I love this series. Unfortunately, I found Prime 4 to be extremely disappointing. Part of me wants to write an article just to vent my frustration. At the same time, I don’t want to make a post that will inevitably be extremely negative. If you guys want it, I’ll do it. Otherwise, it will remain a maybe.
Next, a quick update on ‘Father of Monsters‘. Launch is officially behind us, and I couldn’t be happier! For those of you that picked up a copy, thank you so much! For those of you that haven’t… why not? I mean, just look at this!
Yes. That is real. My marketing & promotion team went above and beyond.
But we’re not done just yet. There’s still one final goal to reach: the audio book. Production on that will begin ASAP; my brother, the narrator, and I are still working out the details. My goal is to get that out to you guys by March. I’ll keep you posted on its progress in future updates.
Finally, I’m excited to announce my next book. A brand new dark fantasy novella. The current working title is: ‘The Red Dragon’s Tears‘. This one has only been baking for a month, but it’s already well into development. Here are the current numbers:

- Chapters: 6/11 Complete
I’ll announce more details as we get closer to the release. However, I can address a few things straight away. Such as:
Q. When will this book come out?
A. The goal is 2026. ‘The Red Dragon’s Tears‘ will be a short novella; I’m aiming for 30,000 words. The goal is to get this one out quickly while I’m working on larger projects for later.
Q. Is this a sequel to ‘Father of Monsters‘?
A. No. This is a stand-alone story set in a new setting.
Q. Will this start a new series?
A. Yes. An anthology series. I have plans for multiple novellas in this setting, but they will each be their own complete stories.
