Writer’s Diary: July 2025 Update

Welcome, new friends and old! Hope you’ve all had a good Summer so far. Or at least a safe and healthy one.

Let’s cut straight to the chase. Firstly: an update on ‘Father of Monsters‘.

In case you missed it, the Prologue is available now to read/download for free right here! Hopefully the rest won’t be far behind. Editing on the final draft is going well ahead of schedule. Here are the latest numbers:

  • Pages: 326/384
  • Chapters: 50/54 + Prologue
  • Parts: 4/5

Next, the blog. In case you missed it, my review of the new Superman film is available to read. I’ll leave a link to that right here.

My Baldur’s Gate 3 article is coming out soon. At least, the first part is. I may have gotten a little carried away and written far more than originally planned. So I’ll be dividing it into three parts, one for each act. When all three are published, the original all-in-one version will go up. You can expect these on the 17th, 24th, and 31st.

As for my Elden Ring: Nightreign article… I regret to announce I’m cancelling that one altogether. The game just didn’t excite me enough to finish. That post wouldn’t have been any fun to write, so I doubt it would be fun to read. Quick general thoughts on the game: it’s alright. Much too repetitive, and the rogue-like elements are too shallow for my tastes. If you’ve got friends, it’s a great time. Not so much if you’re flying solo.

One thing I am excited to talk about is Daggerheart. Part of the reason I stopped talking about Dungeons and Dragons is because I’ve become completely burnt out on the property. 5th Edition 2024 was really the straw that broke the camel’s back. Daggerheart has made me excited about TTRPGs again, and I want to rant about why. Expect that one when you see it.

A new season of anime is upon us, and it’s absolutely stacked. Particularly with sequels I’ve been waiting a long time for. Including for one of my absolute favorites: Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. So I figured I’d finally get around to watching the movie: Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl. You can expect my review before the month is out. I’ll probably write one for Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus too, once the season is over.

These titles, man, I swear to God…

That’s all I have for you guys today. As always, thank you very much for reading. Until next time, keep safe and stay healthy.
