Spooky season is upon us once again. Let loose the skeletons and the spiders and other scary things starting with the letter S!
I don’t even know what that was. I’m pretty sure it was supposed to be a joke, but not even I can be sure.
Anyways, here’s the plan.
For movies, we’ve got two more Mummy movies to get through. Once that’s done, I’ll be covering two movies to celebrate the Halloween season. Those movies being ‘Nightmare Before Christmas’ and… ‘Halloween.’
Shocking, I know.
This month will see us reach the end of the 5e Monster Manual. After… good lord, years of this series, we’re finally reaching the end of one book. It’s been one hell of a ride and I appreciate you all for sticking with it alongside me.
Will the series continue? Honestly? I’m not sure. I’m definitely taking a break after the final entry. But whether I’m gonna continue with another 5e book is still up in the air. As much as I enjoy Best of the Bestiary, it’s one of the more exhausting series to keep up with. We’ll see how I feel once it’s actually all said and done.
My book plans haven’t changed. I’m currently halfway through ‘Before They Are Hanged’ by Joe Abercrombie and I am loving it. In the meantime, I’ll be giving Papa Poirot a break and focusing on H.P. Lovecraft to fill in the gaps. Perfect for the spooky season.
Onto character analyses. I’ve got one more Main Character in Another World article, this one about the star of Shield Hero. After that, I’ll take a break from anime to discuss some horror movie protagonists, such as Ripley from ‘Alien’.
Finally, games. Now that I’ve finally finished my first playthrough of Baldur’s Gate 3, you can expect a review on that soon. After that, I’ll get to Crisis Core. And for the spooky season, I finally get to talk about one of the greatest games of all time: Silent Hill 2.
Last but not least: anime. With the Fall season starting, we’ll be covering what new shows it has to offer. Past that, I’ll be reviewing the first half of Mushoku Tensei 2 and another few chapters of Berserk.
As for the book… yeah, I’m still on break. But I haven’t just been sitting on my thumbs. I’ve been working on a side project, a little passion project of mine. It’s been incredibly refreshing to work on. Once I finish it, I should be all set to get back to the main novel.
