As of today, the numbered Daily Rants are over. After 365 days of talking about things, it’s time to bring it to an end. But the question remains: where do we go from here? Is it over? Am I walking away from the blog?
No fucking way! I’m not even close to done yet!
I’ve still got tons of stuff to talk about. The Daily Rants are far from done. Now, however, there will no longer be any ‘Day ###: Today’s Topic’ posts. Instead, there will be a schedule of different posts relating to different kinds of media. Books, movies, anime, I’m still gonna talk about it all!
With this post, I’m going to lay out in no uncertain terms what the new series is and when you can expect to see them on a weekly basis. While the specific times of the upload may vary, the date itself will never change. Be it 12 in the afternoon or 9 in the evening, that post will be up on that day. If something comes up and it won’t be there, I’ll always make sure to let you know.
Now, here’s the new schedule and the new content!
Monday:
Movie Monday
Tuesday:
Best of the Bestiary
Wednesday:
How’s This Book?
Thursday:
The Mind of a Character
Friday:
Game Night
Saturday:
Watch This Anime!
Various:
Episodic Anime Reviews (My Review Academia, etc.), whatever else comes to mind
What are these different titles you aren’t asking because you are all intelligent people? Well, most of them are exactly what they sound. Movie Monday is the day we watch and review a movie. Game Night is our video game day, and Watch This Anime! is the series where I yell at you to watch different anime series.
The Mind of a Character is my character analysis series. I’ll be breaking down what comprises a character based on K.M. Weiland’s book: ‘Creating Character Arcs: The Masterful Author’s Guide to Uniting Story Structure, Plot, and Character Development’. Each character will be broken down into four categories: The Lie, The Desire, The Need, and the Wound.
Best of the Bestiary is a series where we’ll be going over every monster in the 5th Edition of Dungeons and Dragons. These will include those from The Monster Manual, Volo’s Guide to Monsters, and Mordenkainen’s Tome of Foes (and maybe some fun homebrewed monsters I find). Each one will focus on the monster’s abilities and stats, their overall design, and how I feel about their use in a D&D campaign.
How’s This Book? is an in-depth analysis of literature, and a passion project that I hope will get me, and maybe some of you, back into reading. I’ll be judging the book on the story, the strength of the author’s voice, and the quality of the physical book itself. More on that in a later post at a later date.
Going up alongside the daily posts will be a variety of posts. The Episodic Anime Reviews are exactly what they sound like: talking about the new episode of a hot show in the anime season. For these, I’ll be looking at whether or not the episode stands above or below the show’s quality standard, as well as anything that stood out as particularly great. Fear not, I’ll be avoiding spoilers as best as I can for those.
Now, this schedule may be subject to change. If I don’t like a particular series, I may replace it with something I enjoy writing more. If something comes up and I can’t write that specific post on that day, an announcement will be made over on my Twitter (@jernahblunt go follow me if you want trash posts and memes) to let you guys know. Still, I’ll try my best to remain consistent for you guys.
I hope you all enjoy the new content coming in the future. I’ll be trying to improve as much as I can overtime as to deliver the best I can to you guys. Thank you all so much for reading, and I hope you have a lovely day.
See ya!
