Day 149: The Coal Hollow Fire

I know that normally this blog is all about pop-culture stuff, like games and movies, but this is too important to not talk about.

Recently, the town I live in has been covered in a light smoke all day every day for the last week or so. I didn’t know why, but I paid it no mind until today when I got a notice about an evacuation in the Coal Hollow area due to a fire.

As it turns out, roughly forty minutes drive from here, a massive fire has forced an evacuation in the Scofield area. How massive, you ask?

Does twelve thousand acres wide and five hundred feet tall sound big to you?

So today’s rant will be short and simple. I wanted to bring attention to it and wish luck and safety to all the families being affected by it as well as all the people currently struggling to put it out.
